Popular Cities for FSBO's
The number of listings on ForSaleByOwner.com increased more than 10 percent versus 2006, says Greg Healy, vice president of operations for the FSBO Web site, but in some cities sales have declined significantly.

ForSaleByOwner identified these cities as the ones where it did the most business in 2007 and the year-over-year percentage increase in business:
  1. New York, N.Y. (12.7 percent)
  2. Chicago (5.1 percent)
  3. Washington, D.C. (3.2 percent)
  4. Miami (2.6 percent)
  5. Los Angeles (2.3 percent)
  6. Norfolk, Va. (2.1 percent)
  7. Atlanta (2.0 percent)
  8. Salt Lake City (1.8 percent)
  9. Dallas (1.7 percent)
  10. Tampa, Fla. (1.6 percent)

In these 10 cities, ForSaleByOwner.com says business declined the most compared to the previous year.
  1. Sarasota, Fla. (-28 percent)
  2. Philadelphia (-26 percent)
  3. Detroit (-23 percent)
  4. Boston (-21 percent)
  5. Fort Myers, Fla. (-21 percent)
  6. Phoenix. (-16 percent)
  7. West Palm, Fla. (-14 percent)
  8. Milwaukee (-14 percent)
  9. Washington, D.C. (-12 percent)
  10. Minneapolis (-7 percent)
