Renter are you protected by your landlord?
While you are renting another person's home you feel comfortable living in your day to day lives with no worries since the landlord takes care of all the maintenance and you have an attitude "it's not my home home". However renters face the same risk as homeowners.

I recently received an email from a family whom I had put them in a rental single family home in Virginia. While they were on vacation someone broke into the home and stole their laptops (including their iPAD), other small electronics, jewelry and cash. I asked the tenants if they had kept their renter insurance, they said it was costing them $30 a month so they canceled it while back and also it wasn't required so they thought it was waste of money.

Now same situation if they had kept their renter's insurance, it would have protect their personal items. Renter insurance also covers temporary housing and liability protection or a lawyer if you are sued by someone unintentionally injured by you.

If you feel the pinch of paying $$, skip one dinner out and get a coverage that will give you more satisfaction and peace then that meal.

Speak to your insurance agent about the rental insurance coverage!
