Loudoun County, Virginia Library Starts Fines-Law passed!
As a mother of two young boys
L oudoun county library is one of our special places we visit regularly. During my recent visit to the library signs were placed all over the library
"Starting Oct 5th Over due items will be fined see website for details"
Curious about the details, I visit the
website to find out what the fines. Here are the highlights about the fines:
1. Starting Oct. 5th 2010 any book that is not renewed will be $0.10
cents per day per item. Maximum a book can be fined for $5.
2. Fines can be paid online or at the kiosk at the library.
3. No exception to the fines. Every and anyone books are over due will be fined!
Some may argue against this rule but I have been a resident of Fairfax
County and used Fairfax Library they have been fining the patron for
over dues for a long time. There fines are stepper than Loudoun County
it is at $0.30 cents per day per item with $6 maximum. Plus Fairfax County library has reduced hours and closed Sunday library services as a budget cuts.
Feel better !!!
Now make a note on your calendar and renew or return the books. Its a
privilege for us to have use of public library.
