Northern Virginia Real Estate Guide-When the Real Estate Tax Bill is Due?
When selling your home or purchasing a
home in Northern Virginia many of us will read the line item for Real
Estate Tax Assessment. This is where the real estate tax payment are
escrow (in case of purchaser) and/or credited or collected from the
seller/purchasers depending on the month and date of closing. Northern
Virginia counties collect the real estate tax bill twice a year.
in most cases if you have a mortgage the lender gets the bill and they
pay it from the escrow they collect every month. For few who are
fortunate to have no mortgage or lender allows you to pay your own tax
bill you will need to stick a reminder to pay the bill on time to avoid
penalties or worst case lien on your home.
